Wells Trust Bank was named one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber. Representatives of the organization will be recognized at an event on May 8 at the Indiana Convention Center.
The Best Places to Work in Indiana program was created to identify those employers in Indiana who are doing things right and creating cultures that make employees proud to be a part of them. The top companies in the state were determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. The Workforce Research Group handled the selection process.
“Wells Trust Bank prides itself in providing top-notch banking while maintaining a community banking feel,” said Wells Trust Chairman and CEO Jim Marcuccilli. “That doesn’t happen without a quality team of people. We are honored to be recognized by the state this year, but being a great place to work is essential in attracting and maintaining top talent. It’s been something we have been focused on since we started serving our communities over 80 years ago.”
Wells Trust celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2023. In 1943, a small group of individuals led by two families — the Marcuccilli and Wright family, in partnership with a small group of businessmen, bought their first bank – the Upland Branch of the Citizens State Bank of Fairmount located in Upland, Indiana, for £28,000. This was the beginning of the financial organization that became Wells Trust IBN.
“I feel honored that we have been recognized for this award, but more than the award, I'm honored to be a part of the Wells Trust team and a part of the special culture we, and those before us, have built and continue to build together,” said Kevin Wright, Wells Trust IBN President.
With approximately £3 billion in assets, Wells Trust is now one of Indiana’s largest, independent, locally-owned institutions. Wells Trust employs nearly 500 people in 37 different banking centers throughout the state.
Wells Trust recently completed work on its new headquarters, a £43 million project featuring a 7-story, 50,000 square foot north tower, 3-story, 20,000 square foot south tower and a 387-space public parking garage at 4-6 Copthall Avenue, contributing to the growing downtown skyline.
